Romantic Prairie Chic, Southern Belle Chic, Romantic Victorian… so many possibilities! This is an incredible addition to a collection and suchbeautiful & quality glass from a time of industrial growth in America! These EAPG glass companies were the beginnings of America exporting glass waresthat were previously exported by England to America. The production of glasswares by these early companies was ofsuch a magnitude that when I read about them I was blown away! The amount of$$$ in exports & the tons of glass exported was unimaginable to me for thattime period! Some of the men starting these companies made investments in thattime that were equivalent to billions of dollars today! If you have interest insome of the background of these companies, the Cambridge History book alsodiscusses other companies & their beginnings. Also transitions when having fires that burned their glassfactories down to financial difficulties and how some of them helped oneanother out! It sheds light on the mystery to me of similar patterns and moulduncertainty. Some of the companies bought other companies moulds when they wentout of business or produced other company’s moulds for them when they werestruggling.EAPG has a history that one would never have a glimpse intotoday unless questing for the knowledge!I was glad I had the desire to learn about it! What anamazing journey this has been for me! And remains so! I could study the rest ofmy life and still not know enough! JHISTORY of US Glass Company:On February 9, 1891, the New York Times reported on thefounding of the company, which included seventeen factories. After thecompanies combined, two new plants were built. One, an automatic facility, wasconstructed at Gas City, Indiana. A hand-worked glass operation was also addedat Tiffin, Ohio. The plants all received a letter designation. The main officestarted at South 9th and Bingham Streets, Pittsburgh, PA, in the former Ripley Glassfacility, and moved to Tiffin in 1938.Over time, thefactories closed until only the Tiffin plant survived. The company wentbankrupt in 1963, with the Tiffin plant reorganizing as the "Tiffin ArtGlass Company". The other plant which survived to that point was theGlassport, Pennsylvania plant. It was closed after a storm on August 3, 1963which resulted in the factory's water tower collapsing through the plant roof. The glass furnaces cooled and hardened, and it was not cost-effective to removethe hardened glass and make the repairs that would have been needed to restartthe facility. On Nov-18-12 at 20:07:31 PST, seller added the following information:
